Your treatment team consists of many different people working together to provide you with excellent care. They are all available to answer any questions you may have. Below is a brief description of each position and what they do for you.
Radiation Oncologist
Dr. Roberts is the leader of your treatment team. He will facilitate the development of your individualized treatment plan. As the radiation oncologist, Dr. Roberts will coordinate with your other cancer doctors (such as surgeons and medical oncologists) and provide them with a summary of your treatment once completed.
Radiation Oncologist
Robert is the newest member of our team. He received his MD degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at the UT Health San Antonio in 2026. He received the prestigious J. Mitchell, George, and Stephen Brown Award for Resident Excellence in Radiation Oncology in 2026, the highest award a radiation oncology resident can be given by the Texas Radiological Society Foundation. His wife, Tracy de Leon, is a registered dietitian with significant experience in the oncology field.
Radiation Oncology Nurse
Your radiation oncology nurse is a licensed, registered nurse specializing in cancer care who works together with Dr. Roberts and radiation therapists. She will be here to answer your questions, discuss possible side effects (and how to best manage them), and provide any support you need from your first appointment right through your follow-up care.
Lead Radiation Therapist
Under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Roberts, our radiation therapists administer the daily radiation treatments. They are also responsible for ensuring the treatment machines are in good working order and for maintaining your daily treatment records. Each of our therapists is licensed and certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Dosimetrist
One of the benefits of radiation therapy is the extremely targeted nature of the treatment. Our dosimetrist is a specially trained radiation therapist who works with our physicist to calculate the right dose of radiation to destroy your tumor while minimizing the impact on surrounding tissues. She develops several treatment plans, then works closely with Dr. Roberts to customize the treatment to best meet your needs.
Medical Radiation Physicist
Our medical radiation physicist oversees the work of the dosimetrist and works directly with Dr. Roberts during the planning and delivery of your treatment. She performs regular safety checks on all equipment to measure the radiation beams and is responsible for quality control for all equipment and procedures. Ms. Miller is certified by the American Board of Radiology in both Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Radiation Therapy Physics.
Receptionist
Our receptionist greets you each day you come for a consultation, treatment, or follow-up, and lets the therapists know you are here for treatment. She schedules appointments and works with insurance companies to make sure your tests and treatment are approved to be done. She may have paperwork for you to fill out as well.
